Jen Plante (Dottie) As the star of ”Dottie’s Magic Pockets” Jen Plante draws on her superb acting and comedic skills to bring the lovable and zany “Dottie” to life, creating a memorable, warm character millions of children can relate to.

Jen has performed extensively on stage both in New York (La Mama ETC, The Kraine Theater, Theater For A New City, New York Theatre Workshop, PS 122) and in Los Angeles (Stella Adler Theater, Odyssey Theater Ensemble, The Elephant Theater). Jen has also appeared in productions in London, Berlin, Paris, and Romania. Her performance as “Marie” in Eugene Ionesco’s The Lesson won Best Performance at the Piatra Neamt International Theater Festival in 1999.

Jen’s film credits include an appearance in the feature film Dead & Breakfast as well as numerous short films. She has also performed as a standup comic in New York (Stand Up New York, Gotham Comedy Club) and Los Angeles (The Comedy Store, The Ice House).

Since 1992, Jen has enjoyed teaching both children’s and adult drama workshops. As a teacher, Jen has created more than a dozen original collaborative theater productions with children at various schools and community centers, including The Cornelia Connelly Center for Education in New York City. Jen has also worked as a children’s entertainer in Los Angeles.

Originally from Boston, Massachusetts, Jen is a graduate of Tufts University and received an MFA in Acting from Columbia University.
